We already know that Voldemort created at least one [[../../Magic/Horcrux|Horcrux]] in this area, as it was embedded in the Gaunt signet ring that Voldemort had just stolen from his uncle [[../../Characters/Morfin Gaunt|Morfin Gaunt]]. Presumably, it was the murder of Tom Riddle Sr., his own despised Muggle father, that was used to create that Horcrux; that is the sort of irony that Voldemort would have liked. It is possible that Frank Bryce's murder was used to create the final Horcrux of the set that Voldemort was planning; again, bringing the circle to closure in that way would have appealed to Voldemort's sense of humour.
