WeThough we only enter Knockturn Alley twice, we visit Diagon Alley in manyfive of the seven books. (Mrs. Weasley does the school shopping in ''Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire'' and ''Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix''.) With the ascendancy of [[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Characters/Lord Voldemort|Voldemort]], Diagon Alley gets successively less cheerful. By the time of our visit in ''Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince'', there seems to be little difference between Diagon Alley and Knockturn Alley, and by the time of our visit in [[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Books/Deathly Hallows|''Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows'']], therethe only difference seems noto differencebe atthat allthere are more shuttered or boarded up places of business in Diagon Alley.
