When [[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Characters/Harry Potter/|Harry Potter]] accidentally summons the Knight Bus, Stan Shunpike is the conductor. He brings Harry up to speed on events in the Wizarding world, particularly those having to do with [[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Characters/Sirius Black/|Sirius Black]].

During the confusion caused by the rioting Death Eaters at the [[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Major Events/Quidditch World Cup|Quidditch World Cup]], Harry Potter, [[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Characters/Ron Weasley/|Ron Weasley]], and [[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Characters/Hermione Granger/|Hermione Granger]] run into a wooded area. In a clearing in the woods, they find a number of [[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Magic/Veela|Veela]], surrounded by young men who are apparently trying to attract their attention by making boastful claims of one sort or another. One of these young men is Stan Shunpike. Ron also becomes entranced by the Veela and starts making some boastful claims of his own, before Hermione restores him to his senses.

[[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Characters/Nymphadora Tonks/|Nymphadora Tonks]] summons the Knight Bus to take Harry, Ron, [[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Characters/Ginny Weasley|Ginny]], Hermione, and [[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Characters/Fred and George Weasley|the twins]] back to Hogwarts at Christmas. Stan is the conductor; he seems rather put out at Tonks, who he describes as "that bossy woman".
