Unlike the other characters Voldemort interrogated for the whereabouts of the Elder Wand, Grindelwald showed no fear of the Dark Lord and even attempted to lie to him. Grindelwald further taunted Voldemort by telling him that he welcomed death and that heVoldemort would never gain the power of the Elder Wand.
