Dòng 53:

Mr. Crouch's severity and officiousness could also be seen as a weakness, as it prevents his showing mercy to any accused. It also leads him, presumably, to preside over the trial of his son, where a more just prosecutor would recuse himself to avoid even the appearance of partiality.

While both his acting as father of the family, or also his severity, could possibly be defended, the combination of the two leading to inconsequence which is certainly a weakness. One cannot help but feel that either he should have defended his son in a fair trial conducted by a different judge, and would afterwards be able to tell his wife that nothing could be done; or, if sending off his son to Askaban, he should have remained adamant that it was a just sentence (which he never questions anyway) that has to be seen through, if necessary to the point of his wife leaving the house.
