The three curses that are classified as Unforgivable are the [[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Magic/Imperio|Imperius Curse]], the [[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Magic/Crucio|Cruciatus Curse]], and the [[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Magic/Avada Kedavra|Killing Curse]].
[[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Characters/Alastor Moody|Mad-Eye Moody]] introduces [[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Characters/Harry Potter|Harry]] and his class to these curses in [[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Books/Goblet of Fire/Chapter 14|''Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire'']]. [[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Characters/Ron Weasley|Ron]] identifies the first, the Imperius Curse, and Moody tells how that one had caused a lot of trouble for the [[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Magic/Ministry of Magic|Ministry]]: often it was impossible to tell who had been acting out of their own impulses, and who had been driven by someone else.
