The Carrows take part in the attack on Hogwarts. Both of them are at the top of the tower when Snape kills [[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Characters/Albus Dumbledore/|Albus Dumbledore]]. [[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Characters/Neville Longbottom/|Neville Longbottom]] tells us that, under Alecto, the course seems to have become a diatribe against Muggles, in the best propaganda tradition, teaching how non-Magical people are dirty and behave like animals.

Alecto, told by [[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Characters/Lord Voldemort/|Lord Voldemort]] to expect Harry to visit Ravenclaw Tower, has herself let into the Ravenclaw common room before Harry's arrival. When Harry steps out from under the [[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Magic/Invisibility Cloak|Invisibility Cloak]] to examine the statue of Rowena Ravenclaw, Alecto sees him and summons [[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Characters/Lord Voldemort/|Lord Voldemort]] by touching her [[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Magic/Dark Mark|Dark Mark]]. She is then [[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Magic/Stupefy|Stunned]] by [[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Characters/Luna Lovegood/|Luna Lovegood]], who was accompanying Harry, and had remained under the Invisibility Cloak. Bound by [[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Characters/Minerva McGonagall|Professor McGonagall]], she takes no further part in the story.
