The most dangerous accident and widespread event on record, according to ''Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them'' by "Newt Scamander", occurred when a Common Welsh Green [[Muggles' Guide to Harry Potter/Magic/Dragon|dragon]] attacked a group of sunbathers at Ilfracombe. A lot of Muggles saw the dragon flying and attacking people, and the Ministry had to send a squad of Obliviators to "correct" their memories.

Why it is important that the Muggles remain unaware of the Wizarding world is never fully explained. The Ministry of Magic is having a hard time keeping everything secret, Voldemort always tries to create havoc in the Muggle world by destroying bridges and sending out magical creatures. When a Muggle sees something related to the Wizarding world, they use a spell which completely erases a Muggles memory before he/she saw magic. It's unknown why the Wizards don't want the Muggles to know about their world. The most dangerous accident happend at Ilfracombe, a Common Welsh Green dragon attacked a group of sunbathers at Ilfracombe. A lot of Muggles saw the dragon flying and attacking people, a wizard family used a memory charm which erased most of the Muggles their memories but some of the Muggles escaped and still remember the accident.
