Dòng 17:
We are also exposed to another aspect of the Dursleys—they are scheming social climbers. Their ambitious plans for entertaining the Masons, as Harry sees, are extremely sycophantic, and would irritate any person with even a near-average intelligence. One wonders how Vernon was ever able to earn a living, if this represents the quality of his sales pitch. This also indicates Vernon's shallow thought processes. Believing that he would like to be treated in such a condescending manner, he assumes Mr. Mason would prefer the same.

There also appears to be a slight change in Harry's relationship with the Dursleys. A year ago, Harry would never have dared said anything that could even remotely upset his family, fearing their reprisal. Now he deliberately taunts them by mentioning the word ''magic'', something he knows will provoke a negative response, while enjoying their reaction to it. Harry's demeanor and self-confidence continues to develop throughout the series, becoming less passive-agressive and more assertive.
It is unknown yet who or what the green eyes belong to, but it is likely something related to the wizarding realm. Whether or not there is any imminent danger to Harry remains to be seen.
